The family of heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne is said to be devastated by the “sickening” rumours surrounding the star’s death.
The 76-year-old passed away earlier this week on July 22 after paramedics battled for over two hours in a desperate attempt to save his life at the Buckinghamshire home he shared with his wife, Sharon, 72.
Fans were left heartbroken at the news of the singer’s passing, which was announced via social media last week.
It read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.”
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.”
Despite a long battle with Parkinson’s and other undisclosed ailments, unsubstantiated claims have been circulating about the circumstances surrounding the Black Sabbath singer’s death.
Extreme allegations were broadcast on several US Radio stations, including Sirius XM, which staggeringly hosts an entire channel that was fronted by Osbourne.
A friend of the Osbournes said: “The family are still grieving, and to deal with this bull*** is vile. It has deeply sickened Sharon and the children.
“Ozzy passed away at home, and the paramedics tried to save him. Fact. It is simply disgusting, because these social media idiots are not credible,” the insider added to The Sun. “But somehow their narrative is spreading every day.”
“Even though they have no knowledge, other online users treat this fake news as fact. The raft of trolls and rumours has spiralled in recent days. It is quite sick that people would think that Ozzy would do such a thing.
“The man absolutely loved being around his family and his grandchildren, especially.”
The source also alleged the family has been subjected to horrific abuse, insinuating they had a part to play in the star’s death, adding copious amounts of stress in an already difficult time.

The disgusting conspiracy theories have whipped up a frenzy online, with social media users making AI-generated videos of the late star wrongfully speaking about how he’d take his own life.
A source told the Sun: “Ozzy had been in great spirits following his farewell show, but he also had lots to look forward to in the upcoming months.
“There’s no way he would’ve taken his life, because no matter how tough his physical and medical conditions were, being with his family and especially his grandchildren provided him with immense joy and huge highs.”
They added that Ozzy was discussing a potential TV documentary focusing on his Black Sabbath farewell show in Birmingham earlier this month. No cause of death has been announced.
In 2019, the Paranoid singer was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which he admitted made his life an “absolute hell”.
The rock icon admitted on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories in 2023 that “it’s been five years of absolute hell for me and the family.”
“My family has been so supportive,” the rocker added. “I couldn’t have done it without them. It’s been really a bad scene.”
As well as suffering from Parkinson’s, in the same year as his diagnosis, he suffered a neck injury from a fall that required major surgery.
The Black Sabbath frontman’s body will make its way through Birmingham tomorrow, travelling alongside his family to Broad Street.
The procession, due to start at 1pm, will give fans one last chance to say goodbye to the heavy metal pioneer.
