Lulu, 76, sparks outrage with ‘inappropriate’ Sharon Osbourne remark after Ozzy death: ‘Making it about her’

Lulu has divided fans after she reached out to a grieving Sharon Osbourne live on TV on Wednesday, just hours before the media personality said a final goodbye to husband Ozzy, who died last week.

The Prince of Darkness passed away at the age of 76 last Monday, and ahead of his funeral on Wednesday, singer and actress Lulu, 76, took the opportunity to issue a plea to Sharon during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine.

During the interview, Lulu pleaded with the former X Factor judge to get in touch with her.

As she appeared on screens with stand-in host Christine Lampard, Lulu commented: “I want to say, Sharon, I know you won’t be watching but if anyone is watching, Melinda, can you call me?

“I know they’re busy but I want to get hold of you guys because I really, really want to be there to support Sharon.”

Many viewers tuned in didn’t perceive the live message as well-intentioned though, with some fans taking to social media to slam the Scottish television personality’s timing.

On X, one penned: “#lorraine Lulu making it all about her. And Sharon’s avoiding her calls lol.”

A second wrote: “It’s me me me Lulu #lorraine,” while another added: “Lulu asking Sharon to get in touch with her. Painful #Lorraine.”

“Why is Lulu so annoying these days? #Lorraine” someone else asked before another posted: “Oh god Lulu.. I’m so wonderful, I’m so brilliant! Ugh #Lorraine.”

One more added: “Lulu making inappropriate death comments #lorraine.” (sic)

Just days before his death, Ozzy took to the stage for a final time for a farewell performance with Black Sabbath. Addressing his last performance, Lulu commented: “Unbelievable, you couldn’t make it up. You couldn’t plan that exit.”

She added the “last interesting” celebrity death was that of magician Tommy Cooper, who died live on TV in 1984 during a performance.

She remarked: “This was a long, long time ago, was Tommy Cooper, he was on [stage], chatting away, he’s funny as hell and everyone’s laughing.

“Then he pulls the curtain, says goodbye and he just drops. That’s how I wanna go! I’m making this light, but, it’s…it’s so sad,.”
