The People’s Channel fan stood up to ask Labour MP Barry Gardiner a question about today’s controversial Court of Appeal ruling about an asylum hotel in Epping.

He did not get the response he expected with Mr Gardiner saying: “First of all, can I say ‘hello mum’.”

GB News star Patrick Christys then quipped: “For the first time, hopefully”.

It took Mr Gardiner a few seconds to appreciate the joke, but his facial expression change showed the exact moment the comment’s true meaning became clear to him.
