‘We are all so happy for you!’ Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello send love to GB News hosts after huge announcement

GB News Breakfast presenters expressed their delight this morning over the arrival of their colleagues’ newborn son.

Eamonn Holmes opened the programme by sharing the happy news with viewers. He said: “Today, we have some joyous news.

“We are all very happy around the GB News studios, and that is because Emily Carver and Patrick Christys have announced the birth of their baby son.”*

Ellie Costello added: “Yes, and what a name it is. George Alexander Peter Christie was born at 5:26 a.m. on Friday morning.

“Both mother and baby are doing well and I think he looks like a baby Patrick. He’s a mini Patrick. Look at his little face. So cute. It’s lovely news, isn’t it? Oh, and a lovely name.”

Eamonn replied: “Well, he’s got a lot of names. It’s a long name.”

Ellie added: “But it’s a solid, strong name. George Alexander Peter Christys.”

Photos showed the new member of the GB News family wrapped in a white blanket and dressed in a blue babygrow decorated with pandas.

Other snaps showed the family’s journey home, including the moment the baby was secured into his car seat and their arrival at their residence.

The new father took to Instagram to share his joy, writing: “George Alexander Peter Christys came into the world at 5.26am on Friday, September 5. He’s a very happy, healthy, much-loved little boy.”

In his heartfelt message, he praised his wife’s strength during labour.

“The beautiful Emily Carver was amazing throughout,” he wrote, before imparting wisdom to his newborn son: “Life lesson #1 George – always love and respect your mother.”

The emotional announcement included several photographs of the family’s first moments together.

One image showed the couple outside the maternity ward, while another captured the father giving a thumbs up as he prepared to drive his family home for the first time.

The new mother also shared her own perspective on social media, describing the experience as a “rollercoaster” journey.

“Welcome to the world our little tiny George Alexander Peter Christys!” she wrote on Instagram.

She expressed gratitude for the medical team and family support during this special time.

“We’re now out of the hospital and settling into life as parents – with the support of our wonderful families,” she posted.
